JioHotstar is drawing strong reactions as you deal with lag, low video quality and frequent interruptions. Many of you say the platform now feels unreliable even during regular viewing, making the experience frustrating despite having an active subscription.
You also complain that advertisements appear every few minutes, even during paid usage. This constant disruption affects your ability to enjoy films and shows without breaks, turning a simple viewing session into an irritating cycle of repeated ads.
Several users shared that the ads make you lose track of scenes and pull you out of the story. One user said it ruins the movie experience and wastes your time. Another accused JioHotstar of acting out of greed and expressed clear disappointment.
As frustration grows, users now wait to see whether the platform addresses these issues or continues with the current model. The reaction reflects how strongly viewers value uninterrupted streaming when they pay for it.
Showing ads to paid subscription users by @JioHotstar and @PrimeVideoIN is just next level of greed and capitalism. High time we boycott and unsubscribe them.

@JioHotstar you are ruining our movie watching experience by your constant ads. Streaming services were not meant for this. We do not pay to watch ads.

Jio Hotstar now features one minute of unskippable ads every 5 to 10 minutes of a movie. Which means for a two hour movie you watch at least 15 min of ads!
Ruins the movie watching experience and wastes your time. The greed knows no bounds! Time to sail the high seas again. pic.twitter.com/sCfCCwNvrG— vadakkus (@vadakkus) November 18, 2025
@JioHotstar you guys have created a mess and worst viewing experience ever! A downloaded content has ads every 5-10 mins which is annoying!! Should learn from netflix which doesn’t have ads running.. which makes them the best platform!!!
