What to Watch on OTT

Will Tripti & Madhuri Dixit’s Total Madness Work on OTT?

The trailer of Maa Behen has arrived, and social media cannot stop talking about the sheer madness unfolding onscreen.

Starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga and Ravi Kishan, the upcoming Netflix dark comedy promises dysfunctional family drama, lies, and absolute “kalesh.”

The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and begins streaming on Netflix from June 4.

The trailer follows Rekha, played by Madhuri Dixit, a glamorous widow whose chaotic life spirals further after a dead body suddenly lands inside her home.

What follows is a messy chain of cover-ups, screaming matches, emotional breakdowns and hilariously terrible decisions involving her daughters Jaya and Sushma.

One of the biggest talking points online has been seeing Madhuri Dixit embrace complete comic chaos after years of restrained and elegant roles.

The trailer even includes a cheeky callback to her iconic song “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” during her dramatic entry.

Many viewers are especially excited about the film’s tone, with several social media reactions calling it campy, unhinged, and exactly the kind of chaotic female energy Bollywood has been missing.

Triptii Dimri’s performance has also generated strong reactions online, with many viewers saying this genre suits her far more naturally.

One viral comment read: “Triptii is back and how!” while another user noted that loud, deadpan comedy appears to be one of her strengths.

Dharna Durga has emerged as one of the surprise highlights in early reactions. Several users praised her comic timing and screen presence, with one comment calling it a “crazy debut.”

Reviewers have also pointed out similarities to dark comedies like Darlings and Govinda Naam Mera, particularly in the way the trailer mixes crime, slapstick humour and dysfunctional family dynamics.

However, not all reactions have been glowing.

Some viewers feel the trailer leans too heavily into loud performances and exaggerated quirkiness.

A section of social media users called the humour “predictable” and accused the film of trying too hard to appear eccentric.

Others criticised the constant reuse of Madhuri’s “Dhak Dhak” nostalgia factor.
