The Malayalam film Marco, known for its excessive violence, began streaming on SonyLIV in South Indian languages, with Prime Video acquiring its Hindi version. However, a new update regarding its satellite screening has surfaced.

The Film Certification Board has banned Marco from television due to its extreme violence, and its application for satellite certification has been rejected.

A suggestion has been submitted to the CBFC to ban the film on OTT platforms as well. Marco is currently streaming on multiple OTT platforms SonyLIV, Prime Video and Aha video.

The CBFC plans to introduce stricter certification guidelines, reducing the allowance for mature content. Scenes crucial to the narrative will be kept, while others may be altered or removed.

“We will reduce the violence in our upcoming films,” stated Marco producer Shereef. However, this statement has had no impact on the ongoing request for Marco movie’s TV ban.
