Mayasabha, an upcoming Telugu web series starring Aadhi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao Madadi, is drawing attention with its politically charged trailer. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Deva Katta, the series presents a fictional political drama inspired by real-life political figures from Andhra Pradesh.
Set to premiere on SonyLIV from August 7, Mayasabha explores the intriguing question: what happens when former friends become fierce political enemies? The trailer teases a gritty tone and deep character conflicts rooted in Andhra Pradesh’s political past.
Aadhi Pinisetty plays Krishnam Naidu, a character seemingly modeled on former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Chaitanya Rao takes on the role of MS Raja Reddy, likely inspired by the late Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Their shared past and evolving rivalry are central to the show’s narrative.
Veteran actor Sai Kumar also appears in the trailer in a role that echoes legendary actor-politician Sr. N. T. Rama Rao. Although his character’s name hasn’t been revealed, the resemblance is clear and adds historical depth to the drama.
The storyline draws from the real-life relationship between YSR and Chandrababu Naidu, who were once close before becoming rivals. Mayasabha seems to fictionalize that bond and transformation, exploring how personal loyalty can be challenged by political ambition.
Positioned as more than just entertainment, Mayasabha reflects on power, betrayal, and political evolution. With its strong cast, bold premise, and real-world parallels, the series is being hailed as a potential game changer for Telugu OTT content.
