A surprising twist for all the “Mirzapur” and “Panchayat” lovers.
According to the sources actor Jitendra Kumar, who is our most beloved “Sachiv Ji” from the series “Panchayat” and “Jitu Bhiyaa” from “Kota Factory” is stepping into the shoes of Bablu Pandit in the much awaited “Mirzapur” film.
This casting decision made many audiences happy who are both fans of “Mirzapur” and “Panchayat” but, as well as raised many eyebrows from the critics, given the difference from both the franchise and their themes.
Bablu Pandit, the character which was originally played by Vikrant Massey, who is a phenomenal actor, who gave us movies like “12th Fail”, “Sector 36” and many more.
He was no doubt a fan favourite in the “Mirzapur” series, his calm and composed attitude and transformation into the crime strategist left the audience asking for more from the character.
His shocking death in Season 1 left a vacant place that was never quite filled.
With a “Mirzapur” film under the production, the return of Bablu Pandit in the form of flashbacks or it can be an alternative timeline as well, but casting Jitendra Kumar is a very bold move.
Jitendra’s portrayal of the calm and composed Sachivji and in “Kota Factory” as a physics teacher, who solves everyone’s problem with care and composure, but in contrast Bablu Pandit who has a very twisty character, the question arises will he able to do justice to the character?
Stepping into the dark and morally gray world of “Mirzapur” Jitendra Kumar has a lot on his shoulder right now, and this is the time where he can also prove he is more than what people think he is.
While some fans are still in doubt and questioning about the casting choice, others are excited to see Jitendra in a complex gangster universe.
Nonetheless, if this crossover clicks with the audience it could be a new beginning for more such experimental castings in the Indian OTT scenario.
