Prime Video’s Live TV Deal: Euro Expansion on Radar

Amazon Prime Video has expanded its European content presence by announcing two major distribution deals in France and Spain. These agreements aim to strengthen its live TV and local content offering. The move targets wider reach across key European markets.

In France, Prime Video has partnered with M6 Group to offer its streaming service M6+ at no extra cost to Prime members. The deal allows subscribers to access a large library of local programming. This includes both live and on-demand content.

Prime members will get access to over 30,000 hours of content from channels such as M6, W9, 6ter, and Gulli. The lineup also features exclusive M6+ titles. Popular shows like Les Traîtres, Top Chef, and Pékin Express are included.

Major sporting events are also part of the package. These include the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Super Bowl. The addition strengthens Prime Video’s sports and entertainment mix in France.

Elisabetta Carruba, Director of Prime Video Channels for EMEA, said the deal supports Amazon’s goal of becoming a leading entertainment destination. M6 Group Chairman David Larramendy added that the partnership improves brand visibility. He noted it also helps reach audiences in a crowded streaming market.

In Spain, Prime Video has entered a separate agreement with public broadcaster RTVE. The deal allows Prime members to watch several live TV channels without any extra charge. This further expands Prime Video’s live content offering.

Spanish viewers can watch channels such as La 1, La 2, Canal 24H, Clan, and Teledeporte. The content will be available through a dedicated Live TV section. It includes news, sports, entertainment, documentaries, and children’s programmes.
