Pulwama Fatigue: Over Saturation Of Patriotism In “Ranneeti”

Ranneeti Balakot Beyond

Remember when we were flooded with movies and shows based on the 26/11 attacks? Now, it seems like we’re experiencing the same saturation with productions centered around Pulwama and its aftermath. How many times can they milk a single incident? Yes, the Pulwama attack was a significant event in recent times, but it feels like producers have a ready-made storyline that they tweak slightly each time to create a new show.

The latest trailer from Ranneeti presents us with the same story from a different perspective. This time, it delves into the internal and international politics between India and Pakistan during that period. To be honest, the incident has already been explored extensively in movies like Uri, Rakshak, Fighter, and many more.

This trailer also feels like a repetition of the same story with few new additions, such as the inclusion of Abhinandan, an Indian Air Force pilot who was captured by the Pakistan army. The show appears to be lacking in budget and feels like just another lazy attempt by makers to evoke patriotism in the audience.

The only hope for the series lies in its ensemble cast, including Jimmy Shergill, Lara Dutta, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Ashutosh Rana. However, there’s little to no excitement surrounding the series ‘Ranneeti: Balakot and Beyond’. The show is set to premiere on 25th April only on JioCinema.
