The immensely talented actor Karthi, who garnered widespread acclaim for his role in the 2018 blockbuster “Kaithi,” made his comeback with his latest Tamil venture, “Japan.” Unfortunately, despite the high expectations, the movie, which is slated for a direct release on December 11, only managed to collect nearly 30 crores at the box office and faced criticism from critics.
Directed by Raju Murugan, “Japan” is an action-thriller film infused with elements of comedy. Despite being released during Diwali, the film failed to make a mark at the box office and was swiftly removed from theaters. Now, it is set to be released on OTT platforms.
The movie boasts an intriguing plot and unique stylistic elements, but its haphazard treatment resulted in a rather dull viewing experience. The only silver lining appears to be Karthi’s performance, which, unfortunately, couldn’t salvage the overall impact of the film.
“Japan” is set to be released exclusively on Netflix India on December 11. Interestingly, it will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, ensuring that audiences across various regions can enjoy the film.
