Most Watched Indian Film On Netflix in 2023

Netflix has released its list of most watched films in 2023 and to everyone’s surprise, Yami Gautam starrer ‘Chor Nikal ke Bhaga’ has come out as the triumphant one.

Netflix had always been reluctant to share data with the public and the investors, mainly to avoid letting the competition in on trade secrets, however, since the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, which focused on revenue sharing, the company has unveiled figures for more than 18,000 titles; both films and shows.

The Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal starrer hijacking thriller film, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga had left the audience impressed and won their hearts in a literal sense since it first came out on the platform.

The film, in its first 2 weeks of release had not only received overwhelming responses from everywhere, but also topped Netflix’s weekly top 10 list of most-watched movies and shows in India.

The film revolves around a mid-air heist and has certainly been making noise way beyond the boundaries; trending both domestically and internationally. The film surpassed other popular titles like Mission Majnu, Tu Jhuthi Mai Makkar and Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, all of which had big names in their cast.

While the film did make it into Netflix’s global top 500, Indian cinema still has a lot of room to grow and we hope that with each passing year we get more such successful titles which gain fame not only in India but beyond borders as well.
