Salman & Aamir Break Silence on Age-Gap Romance

Salman Khan and Aamir Khan recently discussed the age gap in on-screen romances during the first episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. The show premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 25. Kajol called such casting “cinema magic” but added that when reversed, it is considered bold.

Aamir explained that sometimes age difference fits the story’s demand. Twinkle Khanna pointed out that actresses often play mothers in their 30s or 40s. Salman said filmmakers prefer fresh pairings with new stars because long careers make older pairings look repetitive.

Kajol argued that the same practice is rarely followed the other way. Twinkle teased Salman by saying his films show equality by focusing on cleavage and legs. Salman responded that culture has changed, and he advises actresses to return after adapting.

He also mentioned that audiences feel awkward watching certain scenes with family. According to him, looking fit at his age motivates younger people to take better care of themselves. He stressed that movies should not create discomfort for viewers.

For years, Netizens have highlighted the age gap between male and female leads, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite Trollers, producers continue this trend. Some fans still enjoy seeing their favourite stars in such roles, though others want them in different characters.

How this debate shapes upcoming box office results remains to be seen. Big films scheduled for the next few years will test whether audiences accept or reject this long-running trend in casting.
