PVR INOX Pictures has distributed a lot of successful films over the years. This time too, their upcoming lineup looks interesting, and the Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, Kamal Gianchandani, shared a few details.
Notably, during his conversation, Kamal confirmed that Akshay Kumar’s Mauja Hi Mauja is releasing by the end of November. He also revealed that the company will release Salman Khan’s Monster in Eid 2027.
The news of Mauja Hi Mauja arrives shortly after reports confirmed that the movie, directed by Anees Bazmee, was shifting from its original release date, which was in December 2026. Notably, the decision has now allowed Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha to get a solo release without any major competition.
While fans of Akshay Kumar are happy that they will get to see him a little early, trade experts and social media users are now worried. The reason for the same is the crowded period when movies that have already created a lot of hype are arriving at the big screen.
There are two big films, Gunmaaster G9 and Yeh Prem Mol Liya. Both movies have already started generating buzz with their music that has received a positive response. The reason for this is Himesh Reshammiya, whose work is already being appreciated.
On the other hand, Eetha is already arriving on December 4, 2026. If Mauja Hi Mauja arrives on November 20, it will have only a week to recover its budget, since the clash of Gunmaaster G9 and Yeh Prem Mol Liya is going to snatch away a majority of the screens.
Trade experts noted that the makers may prefer to shift to some other date. But if they are willing to come as planned by the end of November, then they have to create some good promotional assets, including an attractive trailer and an attractive soundtrack.
But theatre owners are worried about whether audiences will be interested in watching Akshay’s film after the disastrous response to Haiwaan. Online users noted that Akshay is once again repeating the same mistake of not maintaining a long gap between his movies, which is expected to impact the numbers of Mauja Hi Mauja.
