Akshay’s Lowest More Than Ajay’s Highest? Sad State

Akshay Kumar vs Ajay Devgn box office

Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are two major superstars who have proved their versatility over the years. Both delivered strong films even outside the action genre. But Akshay entered a difficult phase long ago, and now Ajay seems to be facing the same situation.

The weekend box office numbers of this year reveal an interesting pattern. Akshay’s performance has slightly improved. Ajay, however, appears to need a major shift. What is surprising is that Akshay’s lowest weekends are still higher than Ajay’s best weekends.

Ajay has often been called a sequel king by netizens. The trend continued in 2025, but the responses show that audiences want him to try something new. Raid 2 was his most successful release with a weekend of Rs. 48 crores.

But Son of Sardaar 2 turned into a big flop with Rs. 24.5 crores. DDPD2 performed a little better and collected Rs. 33.5 crores. Still, the numbers were far from strong.

On the other hand, Akshay’s films posted higher weekend totals. Housefull 5 earned profits due to its franchise value even though it was rejected initially. It still managed Rs. 79 crores on its opening weekend.

Jolly LLB 3 followed with Rs. 50 crores, again supported by franchise strength. Sky Force, an original script, collected Rs. 60 crores, showing that AK can still draw crowds when the content connects.

Audience reactions are becoming visible in Ajay’s box office results. Viewers say he repeats the same expression and look across films. Fans are also tired of seeing him rely heavily on sequels.

Meanwhile, Akshay’s choice of varied roles is helping him secure decent weekends. But AK must control his overexposure to improve further. Ajay, on the other hand, may need to pay close attention to the feedback and rethink his strategy.
