Many actors from the 90s are currently trying to make a big comeback by banking on their past glory and Sunny Deol has already shown everyone how it is done by delivering a massive hit with Gadar 2. Even Sanjay Dutt is now following the same path by returning to his classic macho persona with Khalnayak Returns to win over his fans once again. These veteran stars are now trying hard to regain their popularity among the masses.
However, the strange thing is that Akshay Kumar, who was the real action hero of the 90s, is staying away from the genre entirely. While he has the maximum potential to rule the action space and deliver huge numbers, he seems happy doing smaller projects and playing it safe.
Many fans and industry experts feel that he is wasting his legendary Khiladi brand while other actors are trying to take over the spot that should belong to him. Some experts even believe that a typical martial arts action film with the Khiladi tag could do wonders at the box office.
There is also a section of fans who want Akshay to make a sequel to his blockbuster action film Rowdy Rathore. This project undoubtedly has massive potential to do record breaking business in mass centers if it ever happens.
It is high time for Akshay to stop playing it safe and do a proper mass action film because he has enough experience and resources to produce a massive project himself. He just needs to take a big risk like other actors and give the audience the version of him they have been waiting to see on the big screen for a very long time.
