Akshay Kumar and Tabu started a fresh one-month schedule of the horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla in Goregaon, Mumbai. The Haunted Mansion-style set with dark passage ways and very high ceilings have been set up.
One of the important scenes that will be shot during this schedule is a light-hearted chase sequence where the leads get split from each other and desperately attempt to flee what they think is a ghost.

Akshay Kumar’s new production, Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, is a seeming mind game after Akshay was replaced from the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise by Kartik Aaryan. The first Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) was a cult hit, and Akshay’s absence from its sequels has been disappointing for fans.
By collaborating with Priyadarshan, the director of the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Akshay seems to be establishing his own horror-comedy franchise, perhaps as a revenge for being replaced.

Bhooth Bangla has vowed to bring back the mix of horror and comedy in the style of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. With a star-studded cast of Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav, this one may be Akshay’s attempt to demonstrate his mastery in the genre, countering the success of Kartik Aaryan in the sequels of Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
However, it is remain to be seen that whether this release in April 2026 will provide Akshay with an opportunity to reclaim his status as a maestro of horror-comedy in Bollywood or not.
