Kishore Kumar’s biopic is long overdue and now it seems like there’s finally a ray of hope. That’s because Anurag Basu has recently commented on the awaited project after a decade of delays and speculation.
Although he remains tight-lipped about casting, Anurag’s recent comments suggest cautious optimism.
Meanwhile, there are also strong rumours of Aamir Khan being involved in the biopic.
On the other hand, Anurag admitted the project has seen several ups and downs, and he’s not ready to jinx it until contracts are signed.
Reports indicate that Anurag and Aamir Khan have held multiple meetings since late 2024. Most importantly, Bhushan Kumar is expected to produce the film.
However, no official agreement has been confirmed. Meanwhile, Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar also declined to reveal updates, citing legal restrictions.
Interestingly, Anurag Basu hasn’t ruled out bringing back Ranbir Kapoor who was previously attached to the biopic. He had also showcased stellar acting in Barfi! and Jagga Jasoos.
While the film remains unannounced, the buzz around it continues to grow. If realised, this biopic promises a heartfelt tribute to Kishore Kumar’s musical genius. As fans, we can only hope this time, the film finally takes flight
