Confusion continues around Bhooth Bangla as reports of a one week delay created uncertainty about its release date. Amid this, a source told Bollywood Hungama that the trailer launch is now locked, bringing some clarity for fans.
According to the insider, the trailer will be released on April 6. The update is also expected to reveal when advance bookings will begin. Trade experts say promotional plans are being revised, while discussions are ongoing for paid previews on April 16.
Some viewers have criticised the makers for their strategy. They believe the team is trying to repeat the release pattern of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. This comparison has triggered debate online about whether such a move will work again.
Earlier reports suggested that Jio Studios wanted 10,000 shows for Ranveer Singh’s film, leading to the possible shift. However, industry observers feel Priyadarshan’s film may face losses regardless of the final decision taken by the makers.
Critics argue that delaying the film could hurt its prospects. It may lose the April 14 holiday advantage and a clean three week run. Marketing materials with the original release date could also become ineffective if changes are made.
At the same time, releasing alongside Dhurandhar: The Revenge carries its own risks. The competing film may dominate screens, especially if initial audience interest in Bhooth Bangla remains limited in the opening days.
An insider, however, remains optimistic about the April 10 release. The source noted that Dhurandhar: The Revenge saw a drop after a strong start. Collections reportedly fell to Rs. 22 crores after the second weekend.
The insider added that such drops are common for big films after the initial run. According to them, the film may struggle to reach Rs. 900 crores. This has given hope to Akshay Kumar’s fans despite the ongoing uncertainty.
