Border 2 is Organic Hit: Bhushan Kumar Fooling Audience?

Border 2 box office controversy

Border 2 is at the centre of a fresh box office controversy. Producer Bhushan Kumar recently reacted to allegations about corporate bookings and inflated numbers.

Speaking to the press with the film’s star cast, Bhushan addressed questions on collections. He stated that showing fake box office numbers is wrong in today’s time.

Bhushan clarified that Border 2 has performed organically. He added that Sunny Deol had also checked with him about the authenticity of the figures.

He further said that T-Series has always stayed away from such practices. According to him, the numbers reflect genuine audience response.

However, trade experts are not convinced. They pointed out that the film saw a noticeable dip in collections from the fifth day onwards.

Some experts alleged that the makers were unwilling to acknowledge the drop. They also claimed that the statements about organic bookings were aimed at protecting reputation.

On social media, several users questioned the reported figures. A section alleged that nearly Rs. 30 crores from the total collections were not genuine.

Many compared the situation with Gadar 2. They argued that the theatre turnout did not match the kind of frenzy seen during that release.

A few trade voices also credited the film’s run mainly to Sunny Deol’s stardom. They claimed other cast members cannot pull massive crowds.

Another point of debate is the unclear production budget. Critics say the makers are trying hard to project the film as a blockbuster.

As of now, the rest of the star cast has remained silent. Meanwhile, Sunny’s fans continue to defend him online against the allegations.

Reports claim that the net collection has crossed Rs. 300 crores so far. With O’Romeo and Tu Yaa Main arriving in theatres, it remains to be seen how long Border 2 sustains its run.
