Border 2 earned nearly Rs 48.50 crore on its third day alone. This surge helped the film close its opening weekend on a high note. The box office performance has placed the film among the top openers of recent years.

Despite the achievement, the film could not surpass the opening weekend record of Sunny Deol’s 2023 blockbuster Gadar 2. That action thriller reportedly collected Rs 132.50 crore during its opening weekend. The comparison has sparked discussions across trade circles.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, Ahaan Shetty, and others alongside Sunny, Border 2 also crossed a major benchmark. It surpassed the opening weekend numbers of 2025 blockbuster Chhaava, which earned Rs 108.50 crore. This adds to its growing list of achievements.

The film is expected to benefit further from the national holiday on Monday due to Republic Day. Industry observers anticipate noticeable growth in collections. Holiday footfalls could push the numbers higher in the coming days.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan remains the biggest Bollywood opening weekend of all time. The film collected a record net Rs 177 crore in its first three days. This benchmark continues to dominate box office rankings.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, holds the second position with Rs 168.50 crore. It is followed by Pathaan at Rs 160.50 crore, Tiger 3 at Rs 138.50 crore, and Street 2 at Rs 138 crore.

Trade analysts are closely watching Border 2 after its strong start. Reports suggest the film may reach Rs 170 crore in an extended four day weekend. Such a milestone would mark a major comeback phase for Sunny Deol.

Audiences continue to throng theatres to relive Border nostalgia on the big screen. Early reports indicate that collections may rise further. The coming days will be crucial in shaping the film’s overall box office journey.
