Sunny Deol Wastes No Time: Another South Director?

Sunny Deol next film shoot update

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 has released in theatres, with its final box office verdict still awaited. However, the actor has already moved on to his next project, which is scheduled to go on floors in February after delays caused by prior commitments.

Sunny is collaborating with director Balaji on this upcoming film, which was earlier postponed from December. According to Bollywood Hungama, Excel Entertainment has now come on board as a producer, strengthening the project’s backing.

An insider revealed that the delay happened due to Sunny Deol’s busy schedule promoting Border 2. The film is said to be a thriller and will once again present Sunny in a full-fledged action avatar aimed at mass audiences.

The makers plan to wrap up principal photography by April. The initial shooting schedule is set in Andheri, Mumbai, with a tightly managed production timeline to avoid further delays.

With Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment involved, expectations are high for large-scale action sequences. Online discussions suggest the banner could regain momentum if the film delivers strong content after a rough phase.

Sunny Deol has several releases lined up this year, which has sparked debate among netizens. Some feel that spacing out releases until 2027 could help avoid audience fatigue from frequent appearances.

After Jaat, Sunny demonstrated that he can still draw audiences without relying on a franchise. Strong writing and execution will now be crucial in determining whether this collaboration with Balaji turns into another box office success.
