Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava is doing extraordinary business at the box office. Apart from being a profitable project for the producers, Chhaava has seemingly turned Vicky into the new superstar of Bollywood.
The trade experts have shared their opinion, with Taran Adarsh recalling the time when Vicky’s Sam Bahadur arrived alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal in December 2023, and accumulated a decent number of collections at the box office.
Taran mentioned that Chhaava has helped Vicky start his journey as a superstar, specifically on a pan-India level. A similar opinion was given by Atul Mohan, stating that Vicky needed one film to reach on top of everyone and Chhaava helped him to do the same.
On the other hand, Girish Johar claimed that it is too early to count Vicky as a superstar since his box office pull is different compared to Ranbir Kapoor. However, Girish added that Vicky is slowly making his pull stronger.
The owner of Roopbani Cinema in Bihar, Vishek Chauhan, said that Vicky has a personality similar to a hero and Chhaava helped him to showcase the same on the big screen.
He added that Vicky should now be careful while choosing any film and his choices should be similar to the time when he was doing Uri – The Surgical Strike.
Vishek also advised that Vicky should now collaborate with the directors of South Cinema and work in a commercial entertainer that would appeal to age groups. Vishek mentioned that such kind of films can attract the common man and hold the attention of the small-town audience.
Vishek’s point is something that Vicky now needs to take seriously. Vicky additionally has to ensure that his films take big openings and become highest-grossers so that he can join the list of superstars.
Chhaava is expected to run in cinemas for around two more weeks until Salman Khan’s Sikandar arrives on Eid. Now it remains to be seen if Chhaava can earn Rs. 500 crores at the box office, giving Vicky the biggest blockbuster of his career so far.
