Cinema Blockbuster, But No Talk On Hero!

Ranveer Singh in Dhurandhar

Usually, when Indian cinema delivers a massive blockbuster, discussions extend beyond the film to its leading hero. The actor often becomes the centre of attention alongside the movie’s success. This has been the trend for most big hits.

However, the case is different with the latest Hindi blockbuster Dhurandhar. Despite the film’s strong box office run, the conversation around its lead actor remains surprisingly muted.

Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. While the film is breaking records and enjoying a wild theatrical run, Ranveer’s presence has not generated the usual level of buzz associated with such success.

The film opened to mixed reviews initially. Over time, it gained momentum due to positive audience response. The timing of its release and the patriotic elements in the content played a key role in driving collections.

There is no doubt about Ranveer Singh’s acting talent. However, in this case, it is the storytelling and overall narrative that dominate discussions. The hero himself is not the main talking point.

This contrasts sharply with earlier blockbusters. Films like Pushpa and Animal saw their heroes become cultural talking points. Allu Arjun and Ranbir drove massive hype and visibility.

That same hero-centric discussion is missing for Ranveer Singh this time. Dhurandhar stands tall as a blockbuster, but its success is being credited more to the film than to its leading man.
