Devara Hindi Box Office: Golden Chance Lost?

Jr NTR is all set for his roaring comeback with Devara, which is gearing up for a massive release.

With special midnight shows lined up, the excitement is palpable, especially in the Telugu states, where NTR has a massive fanbase.

Devara’s box office performance will rely heavily on Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, with these regions expected to contribute over 80% of its day 1 collection.

However, the film’s Hindi opening seems very ordinary. The presence of Bollywood stars like Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor also couldn’t create any excitement among the Hindi audience.

As of Thursday at 10:00 PM, Devara has sold approximately 15,000 tickets across the top three national multiplex chains—PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. The film is expected to finish its pre-sales in the range of around 20,000 tickets in these national chains by the time bookings close.

While Devara had the potential to open strongly in Hindi, aiming for a ₹10-12 crore start, current estimates suggest it might only earn ₹4-5 crore on day 1.

This shortfall is attributed to weak marketing and delayed advance bookings, which failed to capitalize on Jr. NTR’s growing popularity in the Hindi-speaking market after RRR.

A pan-India film like Devara needs strong promotional campaigns to create awareness, but with word-of-mouth support, it could still pick up steam.

If the content resonates with audiences, a lifetime collection of ₹50 crore in Hindi is still possible, given the lack of competition for the next two weeks.

For now, though, it’s a “golden opportunity lost” for what could have been a stronger Hindi market opening day at the box office.
