Dhanush Bigger than Aamir & Akshay? Only Star Ever?

Dhanush in Tere Ishk Mein film

Dhanush returned to Hindi cinema with Tere Ishk Mein after a long time. The opening day numbers have been unexpectedly surprising, with a record of Rs. 18 crores.

Dhanush has even proved this time that he is the real pan-India star, as he has delivered similar records in three different languages. His other two films this year have also started with double-digit figures. Idly Kadai opened at Rs. 12.75 crores. Before that, there was Kuberaa with Rs. 13 crores on the first day.

The numbers are even better than the films of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Aamir Khan. With Kriti Sanon in the lead, who has often been described as a jinxed actress online, the first day figures have left trade experts in shock, as they claim that the situation will be different in the upcoming days.

Although Dhanush has maintained a distance from Hindi cinema for many years, viewers have enjoyed the repeat runs of Aanand L. Rai’s Raanjhanaa. Marking another collaboration between the duo, the intensity featured in the first teaser made viewers curious to know more.

Meanwhile, everyone is now eagerly waiting to see whether Dhanush can deliver another hit in Hindi. The solid beginning has created a hope that things will go smoothly. The price tag of Rs. 85 crores can also be recovered if similar numbers are recorded for the next six days.

But the upcoming week could bring some complications. The reason is Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and the buzz created by its teaser and trailer. While certain critics are doubtful about the spy thriller getting a big opening, the tables might turn.

The advance booking has not started yet. Once it is open on all platforms, we can get a clear picture of whether Tere Ishk Mein will survive for a few more weeks at the theatres.
