Aditya Dhar’s case against Santosh Kumar has taken a new turn as the dispute reaches the Bombay HC. The issue is linked to allegations of plagiarism made against the film Dhurandhar, bringing fresh attention to the controversy.
The court has advised both parties to resolve the matter through settlement instead of continuing legal proceedings. Earlier, Santosh Kumar was restricted from making public comments about Aditya under an ad interim order issued by the court.
The judge also directed Santosh to initiate civil proceedings regarding his claims over the script. This step is expected to bring more clarity to the dispute, especially concerning ownership and originality of the content.
Aditya Dhar was expected to respond as part of the defamation case. His lawyer, Dr. Birendra Saraf, stated that Aditya would reply soon and emphasised that repeated defamatory comments would not serve any purpose.
On the other hand, Santosh Kumar’s counsel maintained that his client is focused on securing rights over the original script. He added that they would return to court after gathering details related to the civil proceedings.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for April 30 this year. Further orders are expected on that date, which could decide the direction of the legal battle between the two parties.
Aditya Dhar’s complaint mentions that Santosh made allegations during a press conference. He claimed that Dhurandhar was copied from a script he had registered nearly three years ago.
Aditya has denied all allegations and stated that they are baseless and damaging to his reputation. He has maintained that the claims are defamatory and have no factual backing.
Reactions on social media remain divided. Some users believe the allegations are attempts to gain attention, while others have criticised Aditya Dhar and questioned the originality of the film.
The film is nearing the end of its theatrical run as new releases are set to arrive in cinemas. It remains to be seen how both sides will resolve the issue in the coming days.
