19 Flops in a Row? Most Unfortunate Talented Star

Emraan Hashmi Haq box office failure

Emraan Hashmi’s new release Haq has added one more flop to his long list of box office failures. His dry spell has now continued for more than ten years, surprising many fans who still admire his talent.

The film released on November 7, 2025. Directed by Suparn Verma for Junglee Pictures, the courtroom story focuses on the Shah Bano case and stars Yami Gautam with Hashmi. Reviews were mostly positive, especially for the theme and acting.

However, Haq struggled to attract viewers. It opened at around Rs 1.75 crore and managed only Rs 9–10 crore in the first few days. This result has extended one of the longest unsuccessful runs for a known Bollywood actor.

Since The Dirty Picture became a big hit in 2011, Emraan Hashmi has not delivered a consistent success. Only Raaz 3 in 2012 found strong box office numbers. Nearly 19 later films such as Chehre, Selfiee, Azhar, and Hamari Adhuri Kahani failed to make a mark.

Many reasons seem to play a role in this long slump. His choice of subjects has been inconsistent. Audience tastes have changed. The romantic thriller style that once defined his appeal is no longer popular.

His recent efforts to explore different roles have also seen limited response. With Haq getting appreciation for its intent but not for its collections, Hashmi’s career is at a tough stage.

His present box office journey shows that even popular names can struggle when the story, timing, and audience expectations do not match.
