A few days ago, the much awaited teaser for Ramayan was released. It left almost everyone in awe.
With Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, it is definitely going to be an epic drama!
Earlier the film was already in the news for it’s stellar star cast which included almost all the who’s who of the film industry.
However, not many were happy with the casting though.
Tensions erupted when an old video of Ranbir Kapoor went viral where he was talking about his love for beef.
Now that the actor is doing the role of Lord Ram, a few sections aren’t happy at all.
This includes Sanjeev Newar, founder of the Gems of Bollywood movement. For the unversed, it’s a page on social media that usually takes a dig at the film industry for several reasons.
Commenting on the upcoming film, Sanjeev said, “This film is not Ramayan. It is American Ramayan. Disney’s Ramayan.” He further said, “Ramayan is not a scheme for making heroes out of beef-eaters and addicts,” taking a direct dig at Ranbir Kapoor.
Ramayan is one of the most anticipated and awaited films, so these controversies surrounding the star cast are sure to trouble the makers.
Now, it is yet to be seen what answers they have for the same!
