Delhi Belly might be one of the craziest films ever produced by Aamir Khan. The dark comedy genre, the unfiltered use of curse words, the whacky promotions, everything about it was so different from anything Aamir had produced before, or even since.
The film carved out a cult following and became a sensation among younger audiences.
Imran Khan, who was known as the chocolate-boy lover during that time, appeared in a completely different avatar. Vir Das, a stand-up comic, and Kunal Roy Kapur were also unexpectedly hilarious, so much so that their characters are still remembered fondly.
Now, Vir Das has revealed that he is directing and starring in another Aamir Khan-produced film titled Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos.
The film is a spy action-comedy starring Vir himself, Mona Singh, and Mithila Palkar, with cameos by Aamir Khan and Imran Khan.
Vir shared that the film is currently in post-production and will be officially announced soon.
Described as a fun, dark, almost screwball comedy with a balance of silly and witty, Happy Patel already sounds promising. And if it’s anything like Delhi Belly, there’s no doubt audiences will love it.
This marks Vir Das’s feature-length directorial debut, and fans are eagerly looking forward to it.
The news that Imran Khan will have a cameo has only skyrocketed the excitement.
Fans are desperate to know more about the film and thrilled that a genuinely funny movie might finally hit theatres after such a long drought.
Expectations are sky-high… but can Vir deliver? We’ll just have to wait and see.
