This marks a fresh direction for the franchise. The film is expected to include elements of folklore and fantasy. With horror comedies performing well recently, this genre shift appears to be a strategic move by the makers.
Since the story is set in a different time period, the film may have a distinct visual style. It could look very different from earlier parts. Farhad Samji is expected to return as the dialogue writer.
There is ongoing discussion about the cast and director. While nothing is confirmed, reports suggest Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and Akshay Kumar could return. There are also rumours about Tarun Mansukhani directing the project.
