What Is the Film About?
Ramba Oorvasi Menaka follows Suri, a rural drama artist who dreams of becoming a hero. Why he worships Ramba, Oorvasi, and Menaka, and how it is connected to saving his mother’s life form the basic story.
Performances
For Allari Naresh, this is yet another forgettable outing. Neither his performance nor the film adds anything worthwhile to his career or the goodwill he has built over the years.
Surbhi gets little scope to perform or make an impact. The same applies to Rashi Singh, Vishnu Priya Bhimeneni, and Prisha Singh, who play the three title characters. Despite the film being named after them, their roles are half-baked and their screen time is surprisingly limited. They are reduced to little more than blink-and-miss appearances.
Analysis
Ramba Oorvasi Menaka plays out exactly as expected after watching the trailer. The entire film feels completely outdated and offers no surprises.
The story revolves around a fantasy idea in which Allari Naresh, playing a drama artist, tries to solve a puzzle in a book and bring Ramba, Oorvasi, and Menaka down from heaven. Lord Indra also gets involved in the proceedings. A mother’s health angle, a police track, and a rivalry with the police are thrown into the mix, but none of it feels like it belongs in a film released in 2026.
Allari Naresh, Srinivas Reddy, and senior actor Naresh remain busy trying to generate comedy through nonstop dialogue and performances. However, the entire first half feels like we have travelled back two decades and are watching a film from that era.
Unfortunately, the second half offers no relief. It feels painfully long and is filled with silly comedy and outdated writing. The strangest part is that the film is titled Ramba Oorvasi Menaka, but the three actresses playing these characters appear only in cameos. They do not even get enough screen time to make their presence felt.
After spending most of the second half on silly comedy, the film suddenly returns to the mother sentiment and the hero’s efforts to protect her. As if that were not enough, the conclusion revolves around Lord Indra having a change of heart. He realizes that he has been troubling Suri Narayana and comes down to Earth to free him from all his problems.
Overall, Ramba Oorvasi Menaka feels like a one-way time-travel trip back by a couple of decades. Its outdated ideas, silly comedy, and painfully stretched narration make the entire film difficult to sit through.
Performances by Other Actors
The film features several familiar actors in supporting roles. Senior actor Naresh is saddled with a character that is irritating throughout, while Srinivas Reddy repeats his usual act. Goparaju Ramana, Ajay, Vennela Kishore, Hari Teja, and Racha Ravi also appear, but none of them manages to leave a positive impression.
Music and Other Departments?
Chaitan Bharadwaj’s music is completely forgettable, with neither the songs nor the background score making any impact.
Raam Reddy’s cinematography does little to help, as the film looks visually dated throughout.
Editor Chota K. Prasad had an extremely difficult job, but the film still needed ruthless editing, especially in the abnormally long and exhausting second half.
The production values from Hasya Movies and Annapurna Studios are just about okay.
