Trailer Talk: Salute to Youngest Paramvir Chakra Hero

Ikkis trailer celebrates Arun Khetarpal heroism

Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis is gearing up for release, and its trailer is finally out. The glimpses hint at a story that celebrates courage, sacrifice, and the extraordinary spirit of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, Arun Khetarpal.

Based on Arun’s real-life journey, the film traces how a young man, played by Agastya Nanda, achieved greatness at an age when most are still finding direction. The trailer gives a glimpse of his unwavering dedication and bravery in service to the nation.

While the trailer misses a few powerful moments, it still strikes emotional chords. One dialogue about Arun setting an example for both India and Pakistan stands out. A lighter moment follows when Arun beams with joy after getting his tank a small but touching detail.

Dharmendra also makes an appearance, seemingly narrating the story. His presence adds emotional weight and nostalgia to the film, enhancing its storytelling depth.

The content looks solid, but the real question is whether Ikkis can draw large crowds. Sriram Raghavan is known for his unique storytelling, but Agastya Nanda is still a new face who doesn’t yet have strong box-office pull.

The release window is also crowded. Ikkis arrives in December, competing with big titles like Alpha and Avatar: Fire and Ash. Without star power, it will rely heavily on reviews and public response to stand out.

Positive word-of-mouth has saved many films in the past, and it might do the same here. Still, the makers cannot depend on luck alone.

Maddock Films, the banner behind Ikkis, is also under pressure. After Chhaava and the underperforming Thamma, the studio is in need of a genuine hit. Whether Ikkis revives its fortunes depends entirely on how audiences connect with its story.

Let’s see if the buzz around Ikkis translates into strong feedback and ticket sales or if it gets overshadowed in the year-end rush.
