Ileana D’cruz has been away from films for quite long and everyone missed her on the recently released film Raid 2 as she was a part of the first part of the installment.
Many among the audience were disappointed about Ileana being replaced by Vaani Kapoor as Malini, Ajay Devgn’s on-screen wife in the second part of the film.
Recently, in an AMA session on Instagram, Ileana revealed the real reason behind her absence from Raid 2.
When a netizen asked her about the same while also speculating her comeback, Ileana addressed both answers together.
The actress said that she misses being on the screen too and would have loved to be a part of Raid 2.
She stated, “Raid was a special film but Malini was such a special character to play and working with my director Raj Kumar Gupta was a wonderful experience as was working with Ajay Devgn.”
The actress further revealed that the makers of Raid 2 did offer her the film but she couldn’t be a part of the film as she just had her baby.
Ileana also praised Vaani Kapoor for her performance in the film who replaced her character as Malini.
Talking about Ileana’s career, it was a rock and roll journey for her ahead of announcing her pregnancy. In fact, the actress had not given any hits after Raid that was released in 2018.
Her last release of 2024 was Do Aur Do Pyaar, co-starring Pratik Gandhi, which commercially underperformed at the box office despite receiving praises for performances.
If Ileana is considering a comeback to films soon, she must choose scripts strategically to align with the expectations of today’s audiences.
Collaborating with trusted directors like Raj Kumar Gupta or exploring new-age storytellers could also offer her a refreshing reintroduction in the industry.
