Krithi Shetty’s Next with MeToo Accused Director?

Krithi Shetty with Sajid Khan in comeback film

Filmmaker Sajid Khan, who stepped away from Bollywood after the 2018 MeToo allegations, is preparing a comeback with an untitled romantic comedy. The film stars Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja, Laapataa Ladies actor Nitanshi Goel, and South star Krithi Shetty.

Sajid’s removal from Housefull 4 in 2019, when Farhad Samji replaced him following sexual misconduct allegations, became a major moment for accountability in the industry. Since then, his attempts to return—through TV and minor projects—never really took off.

This new film’s cast signals a generational shift. Yashvardhan marks his debut as a star kid, Nitanshi brings national recognition after Laapataa Ladies, and Krithi adds cross-regional appeal with her South Indian fan base.

Krithi’s recent films in the South haven’t made much impact, and her move to Bollywood seems like a strategic step. But working with a director still associated with MeToo allegations raises questions about career risks and public perception.

Sajid Khan’s return once again highlights Bollywood’s pattern of offering second chances to controversial figures. With audiences now more aware and vocal, every comeback faces close scrutiny.

Whether this marks a true redemption or sparks new backlash, Sajid’s return will not go unnoticed. The debate around accountability and acceptance in Bollywood is far from over.
