Dhurandhar 2 & Toxic Fear: Sunny Deol Runs Away?

The month of March is set to be unusually quiet at the box office. Apart from Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic, no major releases are expected. Two much-anticipated films have now been postponed, creating fresh buzz.

The first delay is Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring Ayushmann Khurrana. This was followed by the postponement of Gabru, led by Sunny Deol. Both films were originally expected to arrive before the bigger March releases.

Gabru had been trending strongly due to reports of a cameo by Salman Khan. Fans believed this appearance could boost excitement ahead of Battle of Galwan, which is scheduled for April. However, insiders now say the makers are considering alternative release dates.

A trade source expressed disappointment over Gabru’s delay. The insider felt Sunny Deol’s film could have drawn crowds regardless of competition. The source also pointed to his past successes like Border 2 and Gadar 2.

Netizens also voiced frustration over the postponements. Many felt audiences looking for variety would have welcomed films featuring Ayushmann and Sunny. Questions were raised about whether finding a new release window is even possible, given packed future schedules.

However, some supported the decision, saying both films need a clear two-week theatrical run. Fans of Shahid Kapoor also weighed in. They said the delay might help O’Romeo stay in theatres longer if word-of-mouth remains strong.

With the first half of March now largely vacant, attention has shifted to whether a long-delayed film might seize the opportunity. Trade circles are closely watching how the release calendar reshapes in the coming days.
