Mrunal Thakur’s Bad Luck Continues: Hattrick Disasters

Mrunal Thakur box office setback

Do Deewane Seher Mein has emerged as a major disappointment at the box office. The romantic drama managed to collect around Rs 4.15 crore net in its opening weekend. The growth from Friday to Sunday remained minimal, showing weak audience traction.

Starring Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the film was expected to open better. However, it failed to register a strong start on day one. Even the weekend could not generate the required momentum to boost collections.

With such a modest three day total, trade analysts believe the film may end its run in single digits. The slow pace at the ticket counters has raised concerns about its long term prospects.

This outcome adds to a challenging phase in Mrunal Thakur’s career. Her last notable commercial success was Hi Nanna opposite Nani in 2023. Since then, her theatrical releases have struggled to perform consistently.

The Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda did not meet expectations at the box office. Similarly, Son of Sardaar 2 alongside Ajay Devgn failed to create the desired impact. Now, Do Deewane Seher Mein appears to be another setback.

Industry observers point out that the concern goes beyond numbers. In cinema, sustained success plays a key role in shaping an actor’s market standing. Consecutive underperformers can affect perception and future casting decisions.

Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming films are therefore crucial for her career momentum. Decoyed with Adivi Sesh is planned as a Pan-India release and could help her reconnect with audiences across markets.

Following that, Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai with Varun Dhawan is also expected to draw attention. At this stage, a strong box office comeback would help restore confidence in her commercial appeal.
