Dhadak 2 is all set to hit the screens next month on August 1, 2025. As per the latest update, the upcoming film’s trailer will be released this Friday (July 11). A sequel to Dhadak (2018), Dhadak 2 features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles.
The film has been creating headlines for its censorship, which also led to a delay in release. The film was cleared by the censor in May this year with 16 cuts, which included removal of caste references and slurs alongside violence.
The long list of cuts has indicated that the film will feature intense themes that are expected to make an impact in the minds and hearts of the audience. But the biggest question right now is whether this intensity is sufficient to pull audiences, helping the film to become a big hit.
With hardly a month left for release, the makers have not released any songs or other promotional materials except for some posters. In such a situation, it is not easy to create enough hype or buzz for the film.
Since the damage that has been already done cannot be repaired anymore, the film’s success will now entirely depend on the trailer. Just like Dhadak, Dhadak 2 is also a remake of a Tamil film, Pariyerum Perumal.
In case no one has watched the Tamil film, Dhadak 2 will attract audiences. But it is possible only if the trailer is impressive and it has been cut in such a way that audiences are forced to buy tickets for the film.
Although Triptii Dimri is a known face, Siddhant Chaturvedi does not have the potential to pull huge crowds unless he is accompanied by another big star. However, the tables might turn this time if the film leaves a positive impression and he gives a natural performance on screen.
In today’s situation where remakes and underwhelming performances are hardly accepted, let’s wait and see if Dhadak 2 can leave the expected impact in terms of its content and box office collections.
