“Shah Rukh Khan Can Never Act Like Akshay Kumar”

Priyadarshan with Akshay Kumar event

Priyadarshan is set to return to the big screen with Akshay Kumar in Bhooth Bangla, releasing on 17 April. The makers are actively promoting the film. The cast and crew are also attending several public events.

During one such promotional event, Priyadarshan spoke about Akshay Kumar and comparisons with SRK. He said Akshay can easily portray small town and rural characters. He believes this is something SRK may not connect with in the same way.

He explained that SRK was born and brought up in Delhi and has an urban background. In contrast, he feels Akshay Kumar has stayed connected to the roots and rural parts of the country through his life experiences.

Priyadarshan added that casting Akshay in such roles has always been easy for him. He cited Raju from Hera Pheri as an example. He also mentioned that SRK himself once said he relates more to an urban upbringing.

However, fans strongly disagreed with this view and defended SRK’s versatility. Many pointed to films like Koyla, Karan Arjun and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. They argued that SRK has convincingly portrayed small town and rural characters.

The debate has now gained traction on social media. While some support Priyadarshan’s opinion, others believe SRK’s acting range cannot be limited. The discussion continues among fans of both actors.
