“Don’t Use Censor for Free Publicity”

Director Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming horror flick ‘Raaz Reboot’ recently went through the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the director had certain complaints regarding the cuts. Apparently, Bhatt claimed that the f-word had been used 32 times which the CBFC cut down to 16. The director also said that the movie’s trailer had been given a ‘U/A’ rating for theatres but an ‘A’ rating for television.

However, the Censor Board chairperson, Pahlaj Nihalani, dismissed the accusations stating that this has “become a marketing tool”. Nihalani addressed the subject of accusing the CBFC prior to the release of a movie but didn’t mention the name of the film because that would give it publicity.

Stating that he is “not bothered” with the number of kisses in the film, Nihalani rhetorically asked that “why should the CBFC provide free publicity?”
