Rakhi Sawant who has been charged for making unacceptable comments on the Ramayana author Valmiki in a private TV show last year. She was given summons by the court of Ludhiana to present herself at the court on 9th of March which she failed to do.

Court has now issued an arrest warrant and it has been reported by ANI that Rakhi was arrested on Tuesday at her home in Mumbai for not following the court orders. The complaint has been filed by the Valmiki community members stating that Rakhi’s comments on the TV have hurt their religious feelings.
On the other side, Rakhi claims herself to be innocent and that she was just giving an example of how Valmiki who was a murderer transformed into a sage. She has also apologized to the Valmiki community stating she didn’t mean to hurt anyone but was speaking what she learned in her childhood. The next hearing for Rakhi is on April 10.
