Nani and OG director Sujeeth have teamed up for Bloody Romeo, a stylish action film that has already begun shooting. The team is currently filming in New Delhi, where a week-long schedule is planned before the unit moves to Hyderabad for the next schedule.
According to industry buzz, Sujeeth has planned a massive action sequence for the interval, and the team is reportedly shooting it now. The makers have yet to announce the female lead.
The film is said to revolve around a chef who leads a dangerous double life. While he casually chops onions and prepares food in a kitchen, he is also a ruthless gangster connected to the criminal underworld. Even inside a gangster’s den, he reportedly cooks a meal before unleashing chaos.
The story is said to involve an international food mafia, starting in India before moving to London, where gang rivalries, organized crime, and power struggles drive the narrative.
Produced by Venkat Boyanapalli under Niharika Entertainment, the film features Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role. Praveen Lakkaraju is composing the music. The makers are planning a summer 2027 release.
However, Nani faces an important test with Bloody Romeo. After The Paradise, there was considerable backlash against Nani for attempting the violent, over-the-top mass hero template, which didn’t suit him. Audiences couldn’t digest him as a savior taking on powerful villains and their gangs, chopping off their heads and limbs.
Nani is once again doing an action film, but the actor has described Bloody Romeo as more stylish and cool rather than excessively gory and violent.
