Will BJP Ban Devara In Hindi?

Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor have been promoting Devara across the northern states, capitalizing on their star power to attract audiences. Devara, a pan-Indian project directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr. NTR, has been steadily gaining attention in the north.

However, a recent media appearance by Saif Ali Khan has stirred controversy, leading many to speculate if the film could face backlash or even a potential ban.

During the event, Saif praised Rahul Gandhi for his political transformation, emphasizing how the once-mocked politician has earned respect and could represent honest democracy.

This statement has raised eyebrows, especially in the current political climate where the ruling BJP government dominates northern India. Many netizens believe Saif’s comments might provoke strong reactions, potentially affecting the film’s reception.

Given the political sensitivity, there is concern that Devara could face a boycott or even be banned in certain BJP-ruled states.

Saif’s remarks come at a time when several film stars, such as Kangana Ranaut, have faced similar boycotts due to their politically charged statements. Kangana’s film Emergency, for instance, still awaits clearance for release due to its political context.

As Devara opens with decent collections in Hindi, fans hope that Saif’s statement won’t lead to further controversy, impacting the film’s box office performance in the Hindi-speaking states.
