All the criticism and questioning around Akshay’s career have gotten onto him. It is known by all that his recent films have not fared well on the big screens, one disaster after another people have started pointing out what might be going wrong. But Akshay Kumar is hurt with all the naysayers.
He believes working hard on 4-5 films a year shouldn’t be criticised. He feels like “Mahalakshmi ka ghoda” who is running in a race of films being made all over the year. If Bollywood is releasing 200 films a year, leading 4-5 films is not a big deal for him!
But on the other hand we have stars like Aamir and Shahrukh who are constantly compared with him, and why not? They are all contemporaries after all. Many big stars acknowledge the need to dedicate themselves to a single project for years. And their performance really shows and wins hearts. But with Akshay the case is opposite, his oversaturated presence on screen has bored the fans.
Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, Selfie, and Mission Raniganj are some films in an array of his flops. But Akshay seems unhinged, he doesn’t really care about the critics either, saying “yaha toh koi bhi uthke aa jata hai”. Well, we can only hope that critics have only good things to say about his now screening film Sarfira! But at the end fans and critics verdict shall prevail.
