So what makes a Bollywood star? Talent? Hard work? Social media hype? None of it matters if the box office doesn’t back it up.

Shahid Kapoor is a prime example of an actor who gives his 100% to his roles and yet struggles to deliver hits. If the audience isn’t showing up does all that talent even count?

Remember Kabir Singh? According to box office expert’s It made ₹278.24 Cr at the box office. That should have been Shahid’s ticket to superstardom.

But what happened next? Jersey barely scraped ₹27.9 Cr. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya was watchable but not a major success.

Is Shahid choosing the wrong films or is the industry changing too fast for him? His performances are always solid but his films lack the mass appeal that brings people to the theaters.

Look at Ranbir Kapoor (Animal), Hrithik Roshan (War, Fighter), or even Kartik Aaryan (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2). They are choosing films that balance content with commercial success. Shahid despite all his talent is missing the mark.

Let’s be honest no amount of PR can turn a flop into a hit. Social media hype, good reviews and “Shahid is a great actor” narratives don’t mean anything if people aren’t buying tickets. Bollywood is a business. And in this business stars are only as valuable as their last hit.

Shahid has everything talent, looks and fan love. But if he doesn’t start choosing better films what’s the use? He needs to stop relying on hype and focus on box office winners.




If he plays smart he can bounce back. If not? He will fade into “talented but struggling” zone. The choice is his will he rise or will he stay stuck?
