Border 2 to Ramayana: All Set for Record No. of Releases

Sunny Deol upcoming films 2026

Sunny Deol could create a new industry record in 2026 with the highest number of releases in a single year. His next film Border 2 is set to release in a few days. After that, the actor will focus on finishing multiple pending projects.

First on the list is Shashank Udapurkar’s emotional drama Gabru. The film features Salman Khan in an extended cameo. Its release date has been locked for March 13.

Next is Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which is expected to arrive on Diwali without delay. Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman in the film. This project is among the most awaited titles of the year.

The long-delayed Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is also nearing completion. The film has been in the pipeline for years. It is expected to finally see a release in 2026.

Another project in progress is Vivek Singh Chauhan’s Baap. The film is expected to wrap up in the same period. It promises to bring back Sunny’s action-heavy image on the big screen.

Producer Deepak Mukuat’s Soorya has been in production for nearly three years. Reports suggest it could finally release this year. However, no official confirmation has been made.

Sunny also has an upcoming OTT film titled Ikka. The film features Akshaye Khanna in an important role. Shooting was completed last year, and a release date is expected soon.

While fans are excited about this packed lineup, concerns have also surfaced online. Many feel only Border 2, Ramayana, and Lahore 1947 have strong box office potential. The remaining titles have received mixed reactions from netizens.

Some users advised Sunny to rethink his release strategy. They believe too many releases in one year could dilute audience interest. Avoiding release clashes was also suggested to ensure each film gets proper attention.

After the success of Gadar 2, trade experts remain confident in Sunny Deol’s pull among mass audiences. His franchise value and screen presence continue to work in his favour. It now remains to be seen which of these films will emerge as a major blockbuster.
