The War 2 teaser is out and it’s everywhere. Released on Jr NTR’s birthday, the teaser gives us a look at one of 2025’s biggest action films.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 brings together Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR for a face-off that’s already being called the biggest clash of the year.
Jr NTR makes his official Hindi film debut, entering the YRF Spy Universe with a bang. His opening line, “You don’t know me, but you will soon know me,” sets the tone for a personal battle with Hrithik’s Kabir.
But amidst all the hype, there’s one thing fans can’t stop talking about — the absence of Tiger Shroff.
Tiger’s Shroff in the first War wasn’t just about action — he brought emotional depth and a unique mentor-student dynamic with Hrithik’s Kabir.
Many feel that the magic of War was in the chemistry between Hrithik and Tiger, something they feel War 2 is missing.
As one fan put it, “No offense, but War is not the same without Tiger Shroff and Siddharth Anand.”
Jr NTR is being praised for his screen presence and fresh energy but there’s a growing sentiment online that Tiger “ate the show” in the original.
His absence has made many realise just how much he contributed to the franchise. With this shift in tone and cast, fans are now hoping for at least a cameo from him in War 2.
The teaser itself is action-packed with high-octane action – and I mean that in a good way. High-speed chases, brutal hand-to-hand combat, international locations and a more grounded cinematic style from Ayan Mukerji.
Kiara Advani makes a brief appearance, possibly as Kabir’s love interest, but a few fans pointed out one VFX shot involving her that looked underwhelming.
Unlike the mentor-protégé arc in the original War, this sequel is setting up a more evenly matched hero-vs-hero confrontation.
Both Hrithik and Jr NTR look intense, calculated and dangerous – making for a larger-than-life conflict.
Online is buzzing. “Get ready for War” is already trending, Hrithik and Jr NTR are getting all the attention.
But the emotional vacuum left by Tiger Shroff is hard to ignore.War 2 releases on August 14, 2025 just before Independence Day and will be in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil – YRF is clearly going all out to make this Spy Universe pan-Indian.
With Ayan Mukerji’s direction, global scale and two superstars clashing, War 2 is going to be a big deal.
But for many fans, the real “war” is with their own nostalgia – and Tiger Shroff’s absence is going to be the biggest talking point as the release date approaches.
