India’s premium multiplex chains, INOX and PVR, have come up with a unique concept for moviegoers. They have decided to introduce a trailer screening show, where movie buffs can enjoy the fun of the big screen at any of their multiplexes by buying a ticket for just Rs. 1.
According to this new initiative, the audience can enjoy 30 minutes of trailers of upcoming films on the big screen for just one rupee. The multiplex owners assume that this new initiative will bring cinema lovers back to the movie theatres.
The idea is unique and innovative, but will the audience travel all the way to watch just trailers on the big screen, even if it is for just one rupee? Yes, there might be an audience who will be interested in watching trailers of films starring big stars or high-budget films. But for other films, will there be an audience? It is a bit doubtful.
College-going audiences or people staying nearby might visit the multiplexes to watch trailers, but others would just watch them on their mobile phones.
Half-an-hour trailer shows will be available in every PVR INOX cinema hall for one rupee, except for regions of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
