20 years for legendary hit of modern era

On exactly this day 20 years ago a film released silently in just two theaters. Little did people know back then this simple family film will be a success of an unassuming legendary proportions. We are talking about the film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun which released on August 5, 1994. This was the film that shook the Hindi film industry completely box office wise by grossing almost ten times its previous best. As you can see the Hindi film market was never the same after its release.

Not many of this generation might know but it was dubbed in Telugu as Premalayam. This dubbed version had silver jubilee run across many centers in Andhra Pradesh and even set up records challenging that of our Telugu movies of that time. It catapulted the already sky rocket stardom of Madhuri Dixit to a whole new level and resurrected the career of Salman Khan who was going through a slump then. Today after 20 years Salman Khan is still around enjoying the peaks of his stardom making the 20th anniversary of the film special. Hum Aapke Hai Kaun is the most clean family film that one would come across and is a highly recommended watch even after all these years.
