A big film changing its release date can create problems for smaller films that have already planned their theatrical arrival. What was once a common practice of small films moving away from major releases is becoming harder to manage, and the current October 30 situation is an example.
Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam is reportedly targeting October 30, while three small films are also lined up around the same date. However, the release date of Aadarsha Kutumbam is yet to be officially confirmed. If it arrives on that date, the smaller films could face competition for theatre space and audience attention.
Earlier, smaller films often moved their releases when a big film arrived. But changing a release date after promotions have begun is not always easy, as it can disrupt plans already made by the makers.
The coming days will show whether October 30 turns into a clash or the release plans change again. For now, smaller films have to plan their releases without knowing for certain whether Aadarsha Kutumbam will arrive on the same date.
