Superstars' production houses didn't pay PT!

Mumbai is the business capital of the country and one of the most important sources of revenue for the city is the Hindi Film Industry based in Mumbai. There are many big production houses making films worth hundreds of crores very year and earning big income.

When a social activist asked for the details of the professional taxes paid by these big production houses through RTI act, it was found out that 110 production houses didn’t pay their professional taxes. And these production houses include Aamir Khan’s Aamir Khan’s Entertainment, Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chilies Entertainment and John Abraham’s John Abraham Abraham Entertainments Pvt. Ltd.

Apart from these, big ones like Yash Raj Films, Sanjay Leela Bhansali Pvt Ltd, Rajshri Productions Pvt Ltd and many other popular names are on the list. The social activist Manoranjan Roy who asked for the information under RTI, also filed a case on the defaulters who didn’t pay the PT.
