However, it is still short of the RS 86.75 crore opening recorded by Prabhas’ Adipurush.

Considering the scale of Ramayana and the huge expectations surrounding the project, its opening numbers are impressive. Yet, the film could not dethrone Adipurush, which continues to hold the advantage in this opening-day battle.

What makes this comparison more interesting is the contrasting reception of the two films. Adipurush faced considerable backlash over its execution and portrayal of the epic after its release. Despite the criticism, it managed to pull off a bigger opening than Ramayana.

Ramayana has made a strong start of its own, but beating that benchmark remains a challenge. Despite all the criticism it faced, Adipurush has managed to retain its opening-day record even against a highly anticipated film like Ramayana.
