Ramayana Public Talk: Ranbir & Sai Pallavi Rejected?

Ranbir Kapoor Sai Pallavi Ramayana reactions

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is finally out now in theatres. It was undoubtedly a very long wait and despite the criticism for a lot of things, the excitement did not end among the audience, specifically after witnessing the work done by Namit Malhotra, Nitesh, and the entire team.

Audience reactions have already arrived a long time ago on social media. But the one topic that has become a point of discussion is the performances of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita.

Clearly, Ranbir and Sai Pallavi’s fans are praising their performances, with most of them saying that no one could have played the roles better than they did. But a majority have expressed disappointment with them, claiming that the makers should have cast someone else for the lead roles.

While people wrote that the innocence of the characters was perfectly portrayed on screen, Ranbir and Sai failed to impress for a lot of reasons. Netizens pointed out that while audiences witnessed a new side of Ravana on screen, Ranbir, as Ram, maintained one particular expression throughout the film, which at one point started to get irritating.

A few even said that Ranbir’s dialogue delivery was extremely weak. Some claimed that everything that he was saying on screen sounded very artificial and in certain portions, it seemed like he was forcefully trying to bring the charm of Lord Ram.

Coming to Sai Pallavi, most of the viewers complained that the divine aura was missing in the actress’ screen presence, which is the main requirement for anyone playing the role of Sita. Some also stated that the portrayal did not have the emotional depth that was necessary for the character.

On the other hand, a lot of people also came out in support of Sai Pallavi, saying that she looked graceful as Sita. The same people even alleged that the actress was possibly being targeted intentionally, specifically after the controversial comments she made before the film’s release.

While a lot of things from the Ramayana are expected to create a debate in the upcoming days, all eyes are on the box office numbers for the first day, which will decide its possible fate by the end of its theatrical run. A majority is expecting an opening of Rs. 50-70 crores. But only time will tell whether Namit Malhotra and the entire team’s hard work will bring some good results.
